Students desiring either on or off-campus employment while attending The Crown College will find assistance through the Student Employment office.

LOCAL EMPLOYMENT

Off-campus employment opportunities are widely available in the Powell/Knoxville area. To better help our students with finding employment, a Job Fair is held on campus at the beginning of the fall semester each year. Many local businesses are eager to hire our students and this presents an excellent opportunity for students and employers to meet.

Throughout the year, many local businesses call the office to report job openings. Positions become available daily, ranging from fast food to daycare and from factory work to office work. Local residents frequently call to recruit students for temporary jobs. Job listings are updated and posted regularly.

CROWN STUDENT EMPLOYMENT

On-campus employment is provided through a work scholarship. The Crown Student Employment Scholarship is awarded to dormitory applicants who have a definite financial need. Students may work from 10 – 20 hours per week. Wages are paid on a minimum-wage basis and are applied directly to the student’s tuition account. While this scholarship will not pay a student’s entire school bill, it can be a great asset for students who qualify.

A great benefit of this program is that student employees are able to work along side the staff of Temple Baptist Church. This provides many opportunities for employees to receive training and hands-on experience to help prepare them for future ministry service.
